Custom Painted Faux Marble Fireplace

This attractive fireplace located in our clients master bedroom was in need of some updating.  After having their bedroom professionally redecorated, our clients were looking to enhance the fireplace so that it coordinated with their new décor.   We consulted with the interior designer and suggested antiquing the fireplace mantle to give it an aged appearance.  The fireplace surround and panels were custom painted in a faux marble finish and feature subtle veining done in warm Sienna tones.  The fireplace itself, which was originally painted black, was given a layer of metallic Venetian plaster in a rich merlot tone to coordinate perfectly with the clients crushed velvet merlot bedding.  This transformation shows the beauty and elegance that can be achieved by combining various faux finishing techniques.
